I've been growing sweet mini red peppers on my windowsill. They seemed happy in their tub but were getting crowded so I repotted them. I had to leave them over the weekend. Now I've come back and have noticed that all their true leaves look funny. The best cases have brown bits on their leaves. The worst cases the brown is paler in parts but these places are shiny (some bits are almost see-through), the leaves look crinkly, maybe bubbly in some parts, and their tips are starting to go more yellow. They only have two true leaves. The plants are not droopy. Their cotyledon leaves look ok.

The chives and pumpkin that I repotted at the same time look fine (they're sat in the same place). It's just the peppers. My guess is that they got too hot, or needed more water? I haven't grown peppers before. When my basil and tomatoes have needed water they droop, not get funny brown patches on their leaves. Does anyone know exactly what causes these funny leaves? Unfortunately my camera is out of batteries so can't take pictures at this exact moment. I'd be thankful of any ideas

I doubt it would have got too hot for peppers as the other plants would have suffered first. My guess is that its under or over watering, is the compost really soggy?

At the time of checking they were not soggy at all; I'm guessing, then, that they needed more water throughout the weekend. I didn't expect the peppers to react differently to my other plants when they get thirsty - and there was me worrying about them getting "wet feet". I guess it's all part of learning. I've watered them more and will see how they go. Thank you.

My peppers are recovering now - they'd wanted a drink. Thanks :thmb:
