In "Traditional Garden & Country Home" magazine they have a coil hose pipe at Ã?£29-95. It says it streaches 50ft is this a good buy or is it cheper someother place? [IMG] [IMG]

Hi mef, usually if you are buying mail order it is more expensive than buying from a retail outlet, so I would suggest shopping around before you go for it. Aldis and Lidls tend to have some good gardening offers at this time of year. David.

Hello MEF - do you mean the ones that are kind of like a spring, with small coils (as opposed to the ones that you wind up on a reel?) - if so I wouldn't recommend them - we had one and it was a total pain in the bum, kept getting tangled up and the connector to the tap leaked, and it was really hard to store it neatly.

Hi MEF I use one all the time(when allowed)I found it very tidy and good value(It was £10)so I should look around first ,The only problem that If you stretch It the full 50ft you need to be the incredible Hulk to hold It because If you let It go Its got more spring than Zebedee and you can break a window :D

    Hi Mef

I bought a 'no tangle no kink' hose last year for £19.99 by mail order but I wouldn't recommend them. It tangled and kinked and was a real pain. I've just bought an 80ft one on a reel which has a handle to re-wind. Although you have to take the trouble to wind it back in, at least it doesn't get tangled up.
