I looked at a copy of the Garden News for £1.60 this morning in our local supermarket. Says Free Seeds, but I couldn't see them in the paper, do you have to send off for them or is it a voucher or have I totally misread some small print? if so I'm blushing already.

Sorry but cannot find a thread for books !

Has anyone purchased the book from the beeb that goes with the "Grow your own veg" series. Just wondering if its worth me buying it ? Found it online for a little over a tenner - thats about 40 percent off rrp!

Would be interested to hear your comments on it.

    Thanks.

Usually with AG and Garden News they're stuck to the front, of they're seeds. If anything else, you generally find youhave to send off for them, pay P+P, and get side-tracked into ordering other things at the same time.... I never get those, just the free seeds!

Don't usually buy any, but I bought the Feb issue of Gardeners World for the CD Rom. Lot of good sense in it re wildlife gardening and letting all creatures (even slugs) live. Seems that my style of gardening is now in fashion. You know what they say about a stopped clock - its right twice a day. Have we seen the last of designer tweeness? Will all garden centres stop stocking shelves and shelves of horrible poisons? Fat chance!

I've just been playing with the CD Rom from Gardeners World. It is fantastic and I would value it at £20+ A brilliant freebie with 500 flower photos, 300 creature photos, loads of advice and 200 things to do to make your garden wildlife friendly. GET IT!

PS As the CD Rom has been compiled by English Nature, the distribution maps do not include Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Apart from that, the information and photos are still of great use and interest throughout the whole of Britain

I am a RHS member so I get The Garden every month. I subscribe to Gardener's World magazine, although I have found it a little disappointing lately. I have bought Grow Your Own and Kitchen Garden. I am considering a subscription to Kitchen Garden. It seem to have more substance than GYO
