For many years I used "Nutscene" garden twine called "Greentwist" which is a 2 ply twine very suitable for easy tying. Very different from the thicker (? 3ply) stuff (? Chinese) now sold by all the garden centres and DIY stores round here, presumably because they can buy it cheaper and make more profit. I have checked with Nutscene Garden Products Ltd and they do still make it. Does anyone know where they can buy this, where they live? I live in Pembrokeshire and if I can locate it I will see if they will supply me by post. Does anyone remember seeing it on a gardening mail order website?
Hi Peter, Being taken to GC Tuesday so will look for you and let you know. If i don't get back to you give me a nudge :D
This is about my query on "Nutscen Twine". I see I made a mistake in my question and the end part should have read:- I live in Pembrokeshire but if anyone knows where I can get it elsewhere I will contact that firm to see if they will supply me by post. Thanks Accidental Gardener but I am abit afraid of venturing onto E-Bay ! Peter
Hi Peter, Here is their web site link.. http://www.nutscene.com/twine.html They tell you all about the kinds they do. :Looks like they still do the one you like. There is an outlet Locator button. If you click on the Birmingham button there is a list of stockists with phone numbers & addresses. I am sure one of them would mail some to you, if you contacted them.Hope this helps you get what you want..
Peter,I get my Nutscene 3 ply by the box from Monro Horticultural Supplies but that is through the trade. I have not looked for it in GCs but I am sure you can get via the web as MF says. Don't be afraid of ebay, it doesn't bite! I have bought many plants, my new camera, an mp3 and many cds over the last couple of years with no problems and saved a lot of money.
Hi Peter, As Strongylodon says, Ebay is ok, i havn't had any problems with it. I have bought loads of plants, a multigym, cd's, swing seat for garden etc..... if you pay through paypal you are insured aswell :D
Nutscene Greentwist. Many thanks to all those who replied to my query. I am following up all these suggestions and I feel sure something useful will come out of this. Thanks again. Peter
