    Hi All

We have moved to a new home with a lovely mature garden but as I have been working away from home a lot I am finding it difficult to keep on top of it aswell as still being a complete gardening beginner
.I really enjoy the time that I do get in the garden and do not want it to completly grow out of control (although it is starting to already :( )
I have decided to get some help , I called various small companys from our local yellow pages but they all seem to want bigger landscape jobs or just cut the grass and clear leaves up !!
Can anyone help with any suggestions on where best to look for a gardener or keen enthusiast that could get our garden under control ?
Have also tried putting a ad in the local garden centre but no luck so far , anyone on here locking for gardening work in the Glasgow area ??

    Thanks

You could try contacting your local scout / guide group. When my son and daughter were 15 they were looking for a job and most employers only want 16 years olds and mine were both hard workers and would have managed weeding, mowing and tidying as good as any adult. If not contact the school, they might know of someone, I'm sure they would only recommend people that could be relied upon.

Stuart, you might try WRAGS (Women Returners to Amenity Gardening) - they are a training group for women gardeners (although men are equally welcome to join). They have a monthly newsletter that will post a notice of what you are looking for. The contact info is on the webpage, and you can just e-mail the administrator with your request.

I don't know who is up in the Glasgow area, but it is worth a try - and it is a free service.

If you want any further info about them send me a PM

    Good luck.

Have you looked on shoot? http://www.shootgardening.co.uk/

It's fairly new, but you might find some suitable people there - both I and the LG are on it.... If you didn't speak to her before, you could try now - she's a bit nearer you than I am, I believe.

Or have you tried Yell.com? I pick up customers through my ad there.

    Best of luck.
