What shrub

I planted a shrub in my garden a few years ago and now I cant remember the name.
It has green leaves, red 'trailing' flowers with small white/light yellow seeds inside. It is about 10' tall now.
As an alternative, could someone recommend a web site that I could browse to see if I can find it?

hi John .... it's called Leycesteria Pheasant Berry, grows like mad and selfseeds everywhere...so beware. I cut all mine back every year, from 8 ft to ground, chickens love the seeds, so no problem of selfseeding here lol.. got 4 big plants.

I havn't cut mine at all, so I'll do so this year.
I also havn't had any seeding problems. Lovely shrub though.

Pheasant berry is one common name so is himalayan honeysuckle, don't know why. It's latin name is leycesteria formosa, it's not completly hardy especially on heavy or damp soils. It seems to grow really well for a few years then just dies so keep a seedling or two just in case. Fantastic plant, flowers for months at a time.

 

It self seeds around here, or the birds do it.
