Camelia

    This evening I arrived home to find my first camelia bloom. This is the earliest this shrub has bloomed by a long way.

    Rich all I a can say is STUNNING.

    I think I said once before I would like the camelia yuletide.

    Never managed to get it.

    Nice Rich, what variety is it?
    I have one called Roger Hall thats been in flower since early December, thats early for me aswell.

    Beautiful photo, Rich! Definitely a bit earlier than I'm used to seeing a camellia in bloom!

    This is mine.
    I think by opening this early its going to ruin the show later as the buds are opening but not quite as they should.

    HB, yours looks like it could be the C williamsii, possibly 'Anticipation' but I'm not really sure. It is a red one.

    Is yours a semi-double, pete? Could be the 'Leonard Messel'.

    lovely specimen i wish mine was as healthy it is looking a bit sick just now yellowing on the leaves i was woundering if i should give it a feed with some iron but ground is still too wet this may be the cause [​IMG]

    On second thoughts, HB, it looks like the C sasangua, but your colour looks a little "intense" for that cultivar.
