What is this weed?

    It is a strange angle but it looks like ragwort to me. Dig it out & make sure it never flowers.

    Looks a bit like liverwort. is it really small? if so just s****e off. tends to grow where it is damp and cool.

    I agree, Liverwort, a type of moss.

    Yes Geoff .... I am told it is liverwort and that it grows where it is damp and cold and shaded :(
    Indicates poor drainage apparently
    The pics are taken in the greenhouse which has been badly shaded by a vine this year and of course with little sun
    Obviously drainage has been a severe problem this year with almost 3 months of persistent rainfall waterlogging the ground
    I will 'shear' it off and add a lot of grit to the soil to loosen it up

    Its a real pain when it gets in seed pans especially when they contain seeds that take a long time to germinate. :(
