Hi, does anybody have any experience of buying from this website in Holland. I am considering ordering a few acers but I am unsure what they will cost to post as I have no idea what the plants might weigh.
The plants I am considering are in 3 - 5 litre pots if that helps. I have e-mailed them but as yet have had no response. I have included their charges for p&p to the UK.

    postage charge
    2 Kg 14.75
    5 Kg 21.95
    10 Kg 27.75
    20 Kg 36.25
    30 Kg 42.50

I've never ordered from Esveld, but I have used Crocus, and have nothing but praise for them, if they have the Acer you're after. Postage is not too bad.

Thanks for the replies, I currently have an order with Crocus which has been 'processing' for over 4 weeks now, so I'm not particularly impressed with them. They don't have the cultivar I'm looking for either.

    Oh that's a shame.

I might be telling you what you already know, but the RHS website has a plant finder:

    http://www.rhs.org.uk/RHSPlantFinder/plantfinder.asp

It might have a local garden centre or nursery that stocks the one you want. But going back to the original question, I'm not used to ordering plants on invoice like that, without any idea of how much the total cost will come to! I think it would worry me too much.

regarding ordering plants off the internet, a friend has told me she gets her plants every year from www.jerseyplant.com She said she gets impatins and you can buy 100 plants for £9.99 and you get 60 free! They have other plants too just click on the pages. You can send for a free catalogue too. Order now and they come in April. It's always best to buy plants from word of mouth, counts a lot.

WG, Have a look at www.gardens4you.co.uk

They seem to have so much more on offer and have excellent deals. I got the link from someone on here I am sure. Prior to this site I always looked at Crocus but I feel this one offers more for the gardener cost wise. I may be wrong but nobody has said anything against yet

Just back from holiday guys, so missed everything this past month [IMG]
I purchased 5 plants from Esveld last year and was impressed (4 x 50/60 size and 1 x 100/125) so they were quite large
Postage and packing was 34.45 up til 30kg's plus vat
Delivery was less than 2 weeks from order
These are the plants as delivered

They look pretty decent, I may give them a bash & post my experience for the benefit of others.
    Cheers.
