thank god everyone who was in the gales have come out the other side,

    now for some slating:

how come when Scotland particulary the Outer Hebrides dont make national news when there is storm force winds battering our coasts at over 115mph 3 times already this year not the breeze of 85mph which was recorded today on the isle of wight,
is it because we have got used to what happens when storms arrive and there for take the likes of SCAFFOLDING down avoid DRIVING take ouside seating in, remove anything which is likely to blow around and cause damage in our GARDENS. and the last thing that scotland would do is put up AWNINGS round a race course you dont see AYR race course full of awnings for the Scottish grand national regardless of what the forcaster tell us the weather will be.

    slating complete.

in all honesty thank god no major incidents happened and everyone is well its not over yet i think a big thank you should go to the emergency services and the electricity company's who have/are still fighting to restore power.
Dont know about anyone eles but you would not get me climbing poles in that weather.

Well here in Essex my garden suffered a casualy.
The gales broke an 8 ft concrete fence post at the base and 2 fence panels decided to have a short fly.
    Today is repairing time!!
    Damn wind.
I'm just pleased it happened before my plants went into the border next to the fence.
