Hello Weyms - I watched GW last night but it was not very interesting since there is no 'community gardening' around here apart from the local gardening society which we go along to every month.

I can't wear gloves when gardening, they irritate me and to be honest, it's like having a shower with your wellies on. I have to get my hands in it ( and that includes poo(not intentionally though)) But only after poo, if poss, i will wash my hands or not eat my sarni's. My fingers split and can be quite irritating, and i have callouses and hard skin all over my hands. But then i haven't got a models figure so i reckon hands don't need to be perfect either.

Speaking of GW; I have only just started watching it and they keep talking about the seed trials (the website is the same). Does anyone know how this works. Do they send out seeds at some point because they mentioned feedback from gardeners on how successful they were. When does this usually kick off?

Hi Craig. I think last year they did some trials on about three different types of sunflower - I can't remember exactly. The first 5,000 or so people who wrote in got a free packet and they were expected to report back. There may have been some other plants involved as well. I felt it was a bit 'Mickey Mouse'.
