Oh Sandra AOL is getting a right royal pain in the butt (and I should know all about that!)but I'm glad to say all is alright for me at the moment.....Oh god I hope I have not just jinxed our connection now!

AOL really needs to sort this whole mess out as I had thought it was a local problem at first but sadly it's not. Sooner or later 'they' are going to lose an awful lot of customers after all it's not fair paying for something you're not getting.Hel.xxx.

    Hello all,
I'm not with AOL (gecko, loved your version of it), so it can't be that.

    Don't know what it is.

I think Pal's with AOL isn't he, been with them 3 years with no trouble. May be wrong.

I have said before i heard nothing but bad news about AOL years ago & wiped it off my pc's as soon as i got them. You would have thought they would have improved them. I believe AOL is really big in America (obviously) not sure if that is still the case, but you would have thought they'd have no problems after being in business so long. Maybe it's not them as such. i don't know, don't understand these things.

Like you both i just want my connection to work!

    cheers

Yep! Three years and no problems with the service. The only thing is this Pc gets slower by the day.I can't even load a pic into P-Bucket anymore. I hope to get online tomorrow with a new one and the Vista package.

Flipping heck mowgley, you lost everything then? what about stuff that was on it?

i'm with virgin too. bb,tv,phone even mobile. Not as happy as i once was with them with just the mobile but i suppose every business expands. Actually we'd just got bb when telewest was being taken over by ?????, cant remember the name, and then it was taken over by Virgin!

i'll wait for your answers before i try anything that drastic. maybe i could save everything to disc as discussed before, then load what i want back on again.

    cheers

I was on AOL for 3 yrs and had lots of problems towards the end. The computer repair shop told my they wouldnt touch AOL so I changed to talktalk and its better but also half the price for a quicker service.
The problem for me is I changedd my email to Yahoo but cant use this with GC. It wont let me swap my profile and mails are returned saying GC wont accept this server.
    A. Does anyone know why?
    B. Why cant I get a reply from GC as to why?
    C. How do you contact and get a reply from the moderators?

Did you know that if you go to saynoto0870.com they will give you the freephone number of the 0870 line.
If you` are on a package whereby you get free phone service that charges for 0870 numbers this is a boost. Also if you are ringing the bank use the 0044 number as if you are abroad. That way you are not charged.

Wow compost maker, had no idea about that 0870 thing, thanks.

I too changed my e-mail(well i lost my bt one cos it was payg, & i switched to virgin), anyway i have tried to change mine on GC but it won't let me and i have tried to e-mail the mods but no reply. You can contact them through profile maybe, where you change address, i can't remember but if you look around you will find it.

i have a yahoo address so maybe that's the same reason why i haven't had a reply.

Hope someone comes back with an answer.

    cheers
