Has anyone ever tried to grow kwi fruit? I have, but
the vine grew so fast and started climbing up the drainpipe towards the bedroom window, so we had to chop it down as we didn't have the time to control it. The fruit was, lovely though.

We cut a Kiwi fruit vine down when we moved in. It was growing up the main electicity supply for the road and the farm next door and looking quite hazardous. In spite of being over 50' it only ever produced 2 or 3 fruit! No loss there :D

We put ours into the hedge last year, and are hoping that one day we might get some fruit!

I had 2 female and 1 male intwined in my last grenhouse. but it had only just settled and gone up to the 16' roof, when we moved. I took some cuttings, but only 1 survived. I have planted it just for a cover of an old fence, but it's not best happy with it's location. So it'll be replaced with............mile a minute vine. Don't all shout at me..........I have a large expanse of boundary to cover and it won't bother anyone or anything. It'll help hide the new speed signs that have been put up on the otherside of my hedge.

I love the foliage of kiwi plants and the taste of the fruit itself...

It certainly will climb up for miles, Marge! We had ours in a container as I wanted to bring it with me when we moved, and it sneakily climbed up over the breidge, the shed, and across the grape vine, entangling itself as it went

And it didn't fruit..... - we got a self-fertile one, btw, Jenny.
