Anyone done this? Any sellers you can recommend(or not!) I was looking through and I could have spent about £50 without even trying. So many things I've never seen elsewhere.

I bought loads of ebay, mostly good, but got alocasia "Poly" which came so badly packed it lost all its leaves. The seller has offered to replace it, but I was just so cross he had been so negligent.

I think that with seeds and plants it is always a bit of a gamble whether they will come up allright or not, as it is to buy on ebay.

I can't imagine anybody interested in "taking advantage" from you on purpose, especially because it is a fairly easy procedure to get seeds from a plant once you know how to do it and it is far more rewarding for the seller to have a good feedback than to sell 5 old seeds (example) which will not germinate and will bring a revenue of something like 20 pence!

I was just having a look at the australian seeds and plants a little earlier on, and I can tell you that for some of those I would be certainly ready to gamble...

Our son has bought lots of exotic seeds and bonsai plants on Ebay and has never been let down. In fact he has often been sent extras by way of a "thank you".

I purchased from The Perennial Nursery' an Astelia
(silver spear) approx. 8 inches high, it was well
packed and arrived in good condition.I have had it growing for eighteen months and already have taken off side shoot to put in pot and it is growing well.

I haven't bought any plants there, although I have bought a lot on-line generally. I did buy a very good petrol hedge-trimmer, and was very pleased with that - £100 inc postage.

I too have bought many, many plants and seeds from eBay. Had a couple of disappointments but never yet had a seller who hasn't either refunded or replaced (and in some cases, both) if there has been a problem.

I have bought lots of seeds from ebay and I think it is only worth buying them if you are getting a lot due to the p & p.

There are however a couple of sellers who do not add p & p. I buy from these more often.

You don't generally get as many seeds in the packets, but if you don't need 2000 carrot seeds, definitely worth a look.
