There are no jobs I hate - but the ones I love most are digging, heavy work of restoring neglected gardens, and making a neglected shrub look good again - those are all really satisfying! :D

[IMG] Hmmm. I like all of it really bar 2 things.. Cutting the grass & the hedge....!!!!!!!!! :D Both always look beautiful, afterwards, but I just don't enjoy doing them...!! The dust you get from the hedgerow is horrid & as it is allot higher on one side than the other, you always get a "good dusting".. There is a great feeling of satisfaction after doing them... Just the doing of...!!  :D

Window-cleaning, well, no! Ironing - that's ok! Very therapeutic - windows are annoying.

I love weeding, particularly a big patch that's gone mad with al sorts in it - when you've finished and it looks great, you get such a sense of achievement! And you've had plenty of exrcise out in the fresh air to! Permission to go into smug mode, sir! :D

I hate trimming the edges of the lawn after cutting the grass and don't really enjoy cutting the grass either...

Hate tidying up after trimming the ivy that grows on my garage wall.

Hate clearing up after a good pruning of a shrub

Love going around the borders on hands and knees forking over the soil with a hand held fork.

    Love planting new things.

    Love planning new ideas.

Hate turning compost heaps but love mulching the soil with it.
Love sowing seeds, but then finding out that what looked like 20 in the packet was actually 200 and they've ALL germinated and I hate throwing any away.
Hate bubble-wrapping the greenhouse as it means it's winter.
Love planning and then planting new borders.
Love getting my hands in the soil.
Hate it when I'm digging and weeding and the wheelbarrow gets full and needs emptying. I need a remote-controlled wheelbarrow that emptys itself on the compost heap. :D

Hate the winter months when there's not so much to do outside or watch growing.
Love seeing spring arrive and summer when the fruits of our labours become apparent.
Hate seeing cat poo or scattered feathers.
Hate raking moss. Love the smell of a newly cut lawn.
Hate it when I have to give a mature tree the chop.
Love it when I turn out and spread the compost heaps and think I'm putting something back in to the soil.

All those people who have said they hate clearing up the cuttings from their pruning or hedgecutting, just a suggestion but try putting something down to catch the trimmings, I use a small tarpaulin sheet bought from B&Q for a couple of pounds (have a large one for longer runs).
If you have a lot of shrubs to prune take a pair of scissors and cut in the middle of one of the sides to the middle then use like hairdresser cape round trunk(s) hope this helps. [IMG]

I do the same for weeding, GS - very practical, you just toss the weeds over your shoulder if you feel like it!

As for clippings - I think of them as cuttings material, and it means free plants! :D

There is one job I'm not keen on - weeding the mono-block areas....... takes forever......
