    Hi Waqas,

Know nothing about harvesting seed from Brugmansias. Believe that they do not come true to the original but may well be wrong. Will certainly give you a cutting of Knightii but it will be much later in the season as tis only a baby now and has alot of growing to do. Understand from Penny at Junglegardens that it is very susceptible to rain damage so time will tell how it fares.
Your Brug is looking good so keep up the good work ! IMHO would get it outside and possibly in a much larger pot as their potential for growth is greater the larger the pot. They are very heavy drinkers and feeders, arent we all !! They also need a substantial weight beneath them as they grow to keep them stable and avoid them blowing over. The ones I have grown have always started flowering in August and will then go on in flushes right through September provided they are watered and fed copiously.
Will certainly try and suss out the way to post pics although they aint much to look at yet.

    All the Best
    Carol

Cajary - many thanks for the info on root pruning. I wasn't aware of that, but it makes sense. Ie Bonsaing a Brug - given that it could grow up to 20 feet. Which raises the point of how was the plant in GeorgeBean's original picture produced? How could it be made to flower at such a low height?

Potgirl - welcome back. Its great to hear hearing from someone with knowledge and experience on the subject. I have only just started to grow them myself from Walnut's seed, which he kindly provided last year.

I am also trying Iochroma australis (sometimes called the blue Brug). I know Victoria is growing these - has anyone else tried. I would love to hear how they compare.?

Our temps have been up to 35c this past week, back down to 30c these past couple of days, but it's in filtered sunlight under a Jacaranda.

It's a lovely plant, wagas ... maybe the next for you to try?

Yes, it's a clay fire pit ... we burn the previous year's Jacaranda pods in it and the odd bit of wood ... a Jacaranda can have the previous year's pods (brown and like wood), the last year's pods (green) and the current year's flowers ... neat! :)

PeterS. You can make them flower at a low height if you take cuttings from above the "Y" and grow them on for the next season. ORD. I feel such a fraud. I got all this info. from Walnut.

Hi Lady:luv:. It's beautiful like everything else about you.
I'm going to try them as I now have a heated propagator. Hopefully I'll have more luck with Cestrum seeds as well.:)

Victoria - I am amazed at the redness of your Iochroma. I had always thought of I. cyanea as blue/purple. But I have just looked here http://zipcodezoo.com/Key/Plantae/Iochroma_Genus.asp and seen that there are a number of named cultivars of different colour.

I have also learn't that the seeds that I recently I bought as Acnistus australis, had the names changed to Iochroma australis and has since been renamed as Eriolarynx australe. I can't keep up. :D

Cajary - again thanks for the info. I will try some cuttings.
