    hi

we have a large area, about 20' x 10' which is filled with braken. I think this has encroached from a nearby railway line. We have lived here a year and can find no effective way of getting rid of this. Also, we have heard that they may be cancer causing and so this is giving us cause for concern. Can anyone give us some tips on eradicating this monster please.

    Thanks

    Hi there eun.
Many years ago as a lad on the farm I had to harvest the stuff and we burnt it for the potash which was spread on the gardens.
I did clear a patch in my first garden by having a good blaze then double digging the lot out... :( If there is an easier way I wish I had known then :D

Thanks - it would seem we'regoing to have to do a lot of digging!
