The difficulty with tall sweet peas in a Growbag would be the copious amunt of water you would need to pour on for any real success. The 'Knee-high' style ones would probably be ok though.

[IMG] Hi & Welcome Warbaby. [IMG]
[IMG] I grow sweet peas in 16" pots with canes & net, in very humus rich soil as they are hungry plants. They are only successful as Palustris says if you can give them the water & feed they need. I also use swell gell as well to help with that. They also live near the tap.!! Oh & you must be really religious about dead heading them because if any set seed you have had it.. Generally no more flowers after that. :( So all in all possible if you can give them the time & attention they need, I would say.. [IMG] Good luck..!! [IMG]

    [IMG] Hi Warbaby,
I think a raised bed is a great idea. Be sure to put good drianage in then back fill with a good mix of humus rich soil. Maybe the slugs & snails will be slower to find your sweetpeas up there too..!! [IMG] Just remember, don't let them dry out & when flowering remove all old flower heads before the seeds form..! Good luck & send us a photo when in flower.. :D

You are very kind, I do appreciate the time taken to reply and I will bear all the good advice in mind when I get my plants. I have decided to purchase a small collection of young plants to be sure I at least have some sort of show!!! My late Husband was the real gardener, and I now am trying with SOME success to emulate him. He was good with ssweet peas tho. Kind regards

    [IMG] Hi Warbaby,
Purchasing young plants is a good idea, make sure you harden them off properly as the garden centres start selling them quite early very often. I am sure you will do well, if you watched your husband in the garden I am sure you will suprise yourself with what you do remember when the time comes for various plants. I am sure your determination to do these things will help too. There are plenty of us hear who will be ready & willing to give advice or chat I am sure. Let us know how it is going, good k
    luck.. [IMG] [IMG]
