Summer bedding - suggestions about February?

Is it too early to start stuff from seed in February?

If not, what would be people's suggestions. please?

 

Hello Jolanta and welcome, having seen the forecast for the rest of the week I would hold off planting anything! Some seed packets say you can plant in February but unless you have a warm greenhouse I'd be tempted to wait until the beginning of March. I have a drwer full of seeds and I'm finding it quite hard to be patient and not starting to sow them. I need to give the greenhouse it's spring clean first though :D

 

Yes, I wasn't talking about in the garden but seed trays rather!

Hi Zolanta. I am hanging on to my seed till 1st March. You could easily sow them inside the house now and they will germinate and be OK for a month. But the problem is what do you do then. There isn't enough light inside the house for seedlings, as Kathy says they will go all leggy and unhealthy. There will be enough light outside - but it will still too cold even in a month's time.

 

Thanks for the thoughts. Looks like I have to hang fire for a while.
