    Hi, looks like a Buddleja bush to me. Common name "Butterfly Bush" cos it attracts lots of them.

    looks like a Buddleja ( butterfly bush) you can get different colours.

    Definetely lilac, compare the leaves. Lovely pic BM, I can almost smell it.

    yes there's plenty of them about this one i noticed a few years ago behind my fence but didnt know what it was nice to look though and free [​IMG]

    I'm with the lilac folk ... looks exactly like the small hedge I had of one in Bucks.

    I also agree with K-G about the leaves, Buddleia have slimmer leaves.

    Melia is blooming here now ... Persian Lilac, beautiful. They have them where we are going to lunch on Sunday ... so, camera will be to hand ...

    Ok, I stand corrected ;) Come to think of it, my Mum has one which is flowering and smelling lovely in her garden right now too.

    Hi LOL, and thanks for the warm welcome. I love your aviatar. I've got some new baby Passion Flower's this year - another caerula 'Constance Elliot' which will be white, and me man has managed to grow a quadrangularis from seed. He's very proud of himself as this is the first year we've tried to grow any dseeds.
