Okay Okay, this is not gardening question but it is in relation to a garden event!!!

We are havng a barbeque on Saturday to celebrate our new garden. Typically it looks like rain - being british we don't want to cry off! We have a big gazebo 3m by 2m (no sides). Can we cook under it? It is a gas BBQ. Thought some of you seasoned out door types might know. Otherwise we will just have to stand with a big brolly over the bbq!

    Thanks EGW xx

phew, glad i didn't advertise the fact i had my annual bbq last weekend, bad enough having 30 or so of my drunken friends in the garden without 3627 GC-ers turning up!! mind you, at least you lot would have been interested in the garden and not just the contents of my beer fridge!! :D

I was fortunate, the weather was kind so could bbq in the open, but did have the gazebo just in case. Its a good job the weather was warm, it was a beachwear theme this year, so had various loud shirts, bermuda shorts, bikini's and grass skirts clad mates playing in a paddling pool! I was very cruel to 1 friend, I told him that it was a pirate theme!! :D :D

Yes, you were cruel GlenW. I think your pirate friend should have made you walk the plank, but I'm sure all those bikini-clad lassies put a smile on his face.

I think I will have to pencil you in for next year - what date was it again ?????????????

    Oh thanks everyone!

That's a relief, not sure how I'll fit all the guests under the gazebo too!

Perhaps I'll need to get another gazebo just for them!!!

My barbeque has been known to be switched to the double garage (with the door open of course) [IMG]

Oh to be British, we have to be able to improvise!

I would love to invite you all, though I am afraid that I am still a beginner (gardening and bbqs) and my efforts would not survive your scrutiny!

I will eventually introduce myself on the new members section and post some pictures of the garden for you to critique!

    Love EGW x
