Pests/Fleas (or what)?

    Thanks Pete - I'm at a loss as to what to put here that will grow up the fence, via a trellis or the lower twigs poking out from the tree next to the fence. I really can't face the thought of ivy & hoped for something with a bit of colour.

    Flea beatle tend to be found on brassicas. The shiney black beatles leave small tell tail 'shotgun' holes in the leaves of germinating plants and an infestation can destry entire fields of emerging swedes, turnips mustard etc. I've never heard of them being inside a house as they are more likely to be found hopping around open soil on a sunny day.

    Just come back after being away for a few days. I see the debate is still ongoing.
    The frost doesn't seem to affect the basil plant as it is only outside for about an hour, Pete.
