    Hi ClaraLou no Its not cruel at all,in fact its just the opposite,protecting the Blooms from the cold and rain, its a practice commonly in use among Rose and all bloom show people and especially before exhibitors at Chelsea and Ect:)

    You are so lucky! Up here in Scotland we have masses of lovely leaves but not even the glimmer of a bud in sight!

    Hi Hetty I count my blessings every day and I know just how lucky we all are,really, not just the Rose Buds but everything around us supplied by Mother Nature and our friends:)

    I know exactly what you mean..I am incredibly blessed by my little garden and I thank God for it (having lived without one for so long it means SO much to me)..even though I'm getting stuff wrong and muddling about I am loving every minute of it!

    Hi Hetty your most welcome,Spent some time residing half way up a High Multi storey block of Flats and I never forget that:dh:, and the wait for the Blooms to open will make us appreciate them all the more:)
