I bought a pair of those slip on garden shoes the other day, they are made out of rubber like wellington boots, they are fantastic and so easy to just slip on for going outside, and i'm sure they will last for years to come.
I want to get some of those fancy wellingtons now, the sort with patterns on. Then i will have to show off on the catwalk.

I don't find them very comfortable - any version of wellies, I'm afraid. What I do is to wear hiking boots, and I have a pack of covers with velcro that I can put over them if I need to rush in to the loo.....

If I can find the name on them, I'll put a link up to finding them - they're VERY handy!

    Hi,

This is my first post! I too bought some of those green shoes from Focus at the weekend. They were only Ã?£7 and are great to use in the soggy garden at this time of year! Much easier to get on and off than wellies.... and they look quite good with jeans! [IMG]

There are different types of those shoes gillypetunia, the other ones i tried on have a small lip on the heal of the shoes, but they were too uncomfortable for me, those i have are more like a slipper slip on type if you know what i mean.
Lidel are having some in soon for only 2.99 and also ankle boots for 3.99.

I'm sure if you tried those shoes that i bought Dendrobium you would changed your mind, they are so easy to just slip on and off. I purchased them from brookfields garden centre, but that's in nottingham. :D

Hi we, I only use toe tected rigger boots. But here is a pic of a pair of boots that are not toe capped and therefore useless.
I drilled holes in the bottom, filled with gritty soil and hey presto. But then i fill anything with plants.

Hey dendro, where did you get the cover ups to go on top of boots. They sure would be helpful.
I knew someone who had a huge pair of slippers that slipped over wellies etc, for the same reason, but i don't know where they were purchased. Any ideas anyone?

HI WG, Are these what you are reffering to.The green ones on the right are the wellie shoes which have good tread on the bottom of them like wellies, though we have found after a couple of years the backs of them start to split across the back...The blue ones on the left are called cloggies and at the time there were only the blue ones or red ones available. I went for blue, though I think they may do them in other colours. Also with the wellie ones they can start to split on the soles of them especially if you use them for digging in...

I find with both types they wash up quite well in the washing machine.I ususally bung them in together with my trainers when I want to freshen them up.The blue cloggies usually has a liner in them but I took them out last time they went into the machine and now I can't remember where I left them [IMG]
The tread on the cloggies are not fantastic as I found out last week as I nearly slipped over on our muddy lawn,so be careful if you ever by any.I use the cloggies when we go away in our Caravan as they are ideal to slip on ones feet when going over to take a shower...

Those green ones are exactly like mine... but I found the tread okay - I was outside walking on the raised walls (as the grass is like a bog). I agree about the grip though, not too great especially if like me you are outside in the rain and gardening at the same time! :D

Hi Gilly, the tread and grip on the green wellies are ok it is the tread on the cloggies{The blue ones} that are a problem. They are ok for walking on hard ground but not on wet muddy grass as I found out last week...

[IMG] I think part of it is me not reading things properly (at work and trying to post and not get caught!).... Thanks for clearing it up though Kandy...

I can't wait for my mum to see them because she uses clogs that are from operating theatres as her gardening shoes!!! :D
