a couple of months ago after the storms, it had blown over to 40 degs, and i couldn't support it. It also got really wispy and **** looking. So i chopped it down not expecting it to do anything.

However, this week i noticed loads of growth around the base of the trunk [IMG] I'll have to take a picture of it. There is loads of growth in a week, just like its a very active bush or shrub. Each sprint about 6 inches, and there is a dozen or so sprints coming out of the trunk :D

It's either a glove tree or a eucalyptus I would go for the latter ;)

Just one question though, should i do anything to the bare stump? To stop disease or anything...it looks healthy so far.

I wouldn't do anything to the trunk, but those new shoots look pretty tender to me, for this time of the year.
They could be suceptable to hard frost this winter, if we get some.

I go along with walnut. Definitely looks like a Eucalypt. I suppose you could paint the top of the stump with Arbrex. Should stop any form of disease getting in
