new lawn

    hello,
    ive just had my garden turfed about 2 weeks ago,how long will it take for it to knit together, and will it be long b4 i can cut the grass

    This time of year you are looking around 4 to 6 weeks to start to knit and lay root in to the ground.

    One way to test to see what is going on, try the pull test. Find the edge of one of the turfs and give it a gentle pull, if it comes away easily you know it has not fused.

    As for cutting the grass once it starts to grow nice and long give it a mow on a high cut.
