    Hello me again

does anyone know how to get dahlia seeds, is it tha the dahlia flower is left on and dries on the plant after it has bloomed, or should i de head it and dry it?

Will, you will :D have to leave them on the plant a long time to get viable seed, they need to dry virtually on the plant. In the mean time the plant will probably stop flowering.
Why do you want seed? It probably wont come true to type anyway. Much better to take cuttings early next year. ;)

Not nearly as easy as marigold seed - in fact I have never seen a dahlia seedhead despite occasionally leaving a flowering head to die back. I would go with Pete much easier and more productive to take cuttings
