    Hi

I've got a chili plant seedling which has snapped halfway down. Was debating whether to just snap it off and hope it grows... or doing my current solution which is taping it to a cocktail stick and hoping it heals itself! There are leaves at the top but none below the break...
Any ideas on the best course of action anyone?

    Thank you!

    Hello and welcome Stellaflower,
I too am one of those, the liquid variety :D I haven't got a clue about chillis (unless they're kebab shaped!) but someone will be along in a minute who does [IMG] ;)

Hi Stellaflower, if there are no leaves below the plant I would leave it as you have done,it might heal itself but there is a chance it might just dry up. How big is the plant? When I accidently snap a stem of my chilli's they usually send out more side shoots all be it a lot weaker a stem. [IMG]

    Hello, and thanks!

I suppose it's about....5 or 6 cms high at a very rough estimate?

I will give it a feed as well to hopefully give it some sort of boost!

Try and support it with a stick. You might be lucky. One of mine came back from the dead. It was about 3" high and all the leaves got eaten by slugs. It's fine now.

I think you`ve done the best thing with the splint.
You could even tape it up if you like so no air can get in.
With luck it`ll heal..chilli`s are quite robust.

As you`ve temporarily (semi) detached the root system from the rest of the plant you may want to mist the leaves occasionally until it recovers [IMG]
