Hi all, I am looking for one of those kids label makers! you know, the ones we used to use at school that punched a white letter into a strip of black plastic! any Ideas?

does anyone have any other advice on permanant garden labels? (pics would be good)I prefer the t shape style?

Hi r200 - there's a thread in the "Wanted" section started by bristolpotman which may tell you what you need to know! If not, google "plant labels" and check the sites it brings up. Lots of choice!

That's the one I should have, for sure, BM! Unfortunately I asked for it for my birthday a year or so ago, and they didn't have them in pink then!

I think it's a great thing - but I haven't got into the habit of using it yet. The labels are very pro-looking - I do use them if I'm giving stuff to a plant sale.

Yes, I've used the Brother system, too - labelling plugs under office desks for computers and suchlike. I'd be interested to know how well it holds up out in the weather. And you still need summat to stick the printed strips on, don't you? Does that make it much dearer than other methods?

My worry with these devices is that they'll be replaced by a new model and you'll end up with a machine you can't get supplies for! [IMG]

I am sticking the labels onto small blocks of hard wood s****s. The 'stems' are s**** pieces of copper piping flattened an inch or so on the end and screwed to the back of the wood
Trying to keep things cheap here, but still to look ok [IMG]

    hehehe
the word cr*p seems to generate a bad word block on the forum
No doubt you get my meaning
I refer to small pieces of wood that are of no value elsewhere [IMG]

    I use this:
    Dymo
It is a bit cumbersome but I find the labels really last.
