Hello, I'm new and glad I found this place - lots more questions to follow...
My patio is surrounded on 3 sides by walls. One of the walls is in shade all day and I would like to grow a climber on it if possible. Ideally, it would be evergreen with the possibility of flowers, and likes to be in either a big pot or in very sandy, gravelly ground. Self supporting would also be a big plus.
    Am I asking too much?
    Thanks
    Nic

Hydranger you can get in climbing varieties, but they are not evergree. I had a shady wall and grew 3 different iveys on it, all different colours and textures, they wove a lovely tapestry of colour - given time, evergreen too.
