Crab apple

    Bought and planted crab apple tree last month,it has lots of fruit on, This being first year should i leave fruit on or leave to fall naturally.

    Depends what you want to do with it. is there enough to make crab apple jelly? Its not the tree's first year, it will have been in the pot for several years. What you are hinting at would only apply if you were planting a very small bare rooted tree and that would be to spare it fruiting by removing the flowers. Once it has produced fruit it has done all the work so removing them wont make any difference to the tree.

    Thanks for the quick reply, crab apple jelly seems like a good idea, now that I have the benefit of your expert advice I shall go forth with confidence.

    Try throwing a couple of chillies into some of it when boiling Harry. Superb with cheese.
