Attention - Date of Birth Visible

    As Kristen pointed out, since the upgrade, our date of birth has been visible to everyone in the profile thinger.

    I think i've mentioned this before here but anyone using their real name should go into profile, click edit then under the date of birth it gives you an option to show age only or not at all.

    You can leave your date of birth in so that you still come up on the birthday list but by hiding it only the site will know what it is, it wont be visible to others.

    If someone knows your name & full date of birth they can obtain a copy of your birth certificate & steal your identity.

    Best edit that once a day for a bit, Ziggy, (if you remember) so it staying the the "recent posts" for any folks who don't log in for a bit

    Zig it is there, click the "My Account button top right corner of header & the drop down menu has the "latest posts" there.. Just click it.. :thumbsup:

    Ziggy & Kristen it is down to us at present, go to "Edit profile" & take out your DOB & in the drop down underneath, say you don't want it to show... I have picked a day & month & left it it at that then save it just as it was on the old board......:thumbsup:

    Very unhappy that my DOB has been visible to all and sundry. You didn't even need to be a member or logged in to see everyone's DOB - I'd add an angry smiley if I could find one :(

    To Richard R or whoever did the migration: Surely it would have been better to delay the launch, shut down the site or revert to the old when it was realised you were disclosing personal information. It's amateurish and irresponsible.

    Thanks for the "heads up" Ziggy. My DoB was still there. I would have added some "smilies" but haven't got the faintest idea how to add them.

    Are you sure? I looked at a few accounts that registered yesterday and their Date of Birth is showing ...
