    Rose of the Year 2011

    Joie De Viv

The Joy of Life, a very apt name for a superb rose already collecting a
string of International awards, Superb health with dark green glossy
foliage, repeat flowering & compact manageable habit making it an
ideal container or border rose. The large old styles cupped blooms are a
very pleasant creamy pastel pink with a gentle fragrance
This recently released little floribunda rose has superb repeat
flowering powers - deadhead the old blooms promptly and it will keep
pushing them out from June until the frosts.

That is a rally nice rose..

I am looking for a bright red rose to grow in two containers to form an arch over my garden bench and I want it to have the most strongest of scents it can have. All ideas most welcome. :-)

I have a rose very similar to the Joy of Life WOO but it's a climber.
We call it Aunt Marion as my MIL got it as a cutting from her Aunt a very long time ago and we got a cutting from my MIL.
You can see it in my vase here.

Hi, Not sure if it's good in a container but Ena Harkness is strongly scented and is a good colour red.

Does a "gentle fragrance" mean very little fragrance? Don't get me wrong I love Roses and I really like this one, but to me a rose is not a rose without a good scent. I don't have many roses, just Uncle Walter, Kings Ransom, Mad for You, Trumpeter, Regensberg, Masquerade, and White Skyliner in a large oak barrel container, but they all get pampered and fed with the best fertilisers, with Kings Ransom and Masquerade well over 20 years old.:yess:

Some of the scents of the roses can really give you a high:hapfeet::happydance:
