I spotted this in my local arboretum last year. Love at first sight! Today I went back and took these pictures. Can anyone ID it for me please.

Looks like my love at first sight has died. :cry3:

I did some study on the tree yesterday and my garden is totally unsuitable for it. Plus, it's very expensive, around £160. Ouch!

Looks like I'll have to think again and go in search of something else.

Hmm! Not sure what the problem is.....If it grows well in your local arboretum it should be OK in your garden.
Burncoose have them for sale for £15.00.
    Wonder who is charging £160.00

I have a form called Sciadopitys verticillata Grune Kugel. It is very slow and seems very compact.

My ground is coastal, sandy and windy, apparently everything it doesn't like. The arboretum is a few miles away and sheltered. Believe me, on the island everything can change just a street away, even the weather, so it wouldn't surprise me if the soil there is completely different. :)
