    Hi all,

I planted my laurel hedge in Feb 2008, it was the first thing I put in our new garden and until the end of last year she was looking very healthy and really blooming. However I noticed towards sept time last year there were a lot of leaves quite damaged, and this was mainly focussed on one particular part. I now notice that the leaves are damaged on a wider area now. I dont know if it is my imagination but there seems to be lots of small flies around it.

I have attached some photos of the damaged leaves and hope someone knows that the problem is and can suggest a solution.

    Hi there

Most likely it's vine weevils. The adult weevils seem to be able to attack some really tough species like laurels and viburnums. Remove badly affected leaves (for general hygiene) and spray the worst affected plants with Provado Vine Weevil killer.
