Some of the longer term members on GC will know that in my 'spare' time I used to write guide books.

One of them is a book of easy walks in the Lake District.

I received an email with a lovely photo the other day. It was from a family who took their 3 year old daughter on her first walking holiday and wanted to thank me as the book made it easy for them.

The photo (printed below by kind permission of her parents) is a picture of little Millie standing on top of Cat Bells which is just under 1,500 ft high. Apparently she climbed it without any help from her parents and loved it. I understand that when they got back down and onto the ferry back to Keswick little Millie fell asleep - and I don't blame her :).

Thanks for the photo, Millie :luv:

Making things easy (or writing how to do so), is a further credit.
Being thankfull is a good gesture.
    Congratulations to both of you.
To you who wrote in a explaining/helpfull way and to them who thank you for that. :gnthb:

    Off Topic Post Scriptum:
the Lake District must be a unique landscape since they are not just "mountains"...
Indeed they are "highlands" that, being located in north-west England, are affected by all the Atlantic streams and atmospheric events.
(When I say "highlands" I do not mean "highlands". I mean places that are well above sea level and that, due to that, the action of the Atlantic streams is enhanced.
I also know that the Atlantic Ocean is not next to the Lake District. Anyway it is not so far away. As a consequence of that, its influence can be experienced, I guess...)

    Hi roders,
Amazon have never had it in stock :). They wanted to buy it in at 60%+ discount so you can image what I said to them :hehe:. They are offering it with free delivery and want me to cut my price to cover their delivery costs.

It is supplied to wholesalers who then supply it to retailers. Some retailers buy it direct and, of course, I sell it direct to anyone who asks. I was also selling it direct through the Amazon website but when people tried to buy it Amazon told me that they had problems crediting me with the money :skp: . So I removed it from their site.

The main outlets, naturally, are the retailers in the Lake District, who buy it from the local wholesaler.

    Thanks maksim :thumb:
