I've been using a variation of this method for peas/beans etc. for ages (kitchen paper in tubs), so I'm most interested in the polybags approach to all sorts of seeds. I feel most enthusiastic now, and will get cracking with various other seeds immediately, if not sooner!

I use kitchen-paper-in-tubs for higher volume things, and those that germinate quickly - such as Beans, Sweetcorn, Parsnips, Sweetpeas. (Doesn't have to be Tupperware-tubs, something you can stretch cling-film over will do just fine - a saucer even.

Getting the seeds out of the polybags is fiddly, so I am only using that for more fussy things which are going to take a while to germinate, particularly those that need stratification in the fridge (to pretend that it is "Winter") as they take up so little space., and the small box containing the polybags on my desk that I can just flick through each day to check for germination is a doddle too :)

If you're handy with a pair of chopsticks, they're ideal for getting seeds out of the bottom of a deep jar or the far-flung reaches of a polybag.
