Hi again, I've hunter around a bit and can't find any info on tjhe "silveroak". we has one in our back yard in Zimbabwe (Africa) and it had um like pale gray/silverish leaf. its hard to explain the shape of the leaf, I can only show a pic of one. I can't see any info on growing one in europe(I mean UK) Does anyone know of their upkeep here? Hugs Adrian
just to add, it's a lovely lovely tree which turns a silver/gray color when the foliage matures.. Really something to awe at!
Looks like a Grevillea leaf to me. There are reports of it surviving in the South West of Corwall in very sheltered spots but nowhere else and even then I doubt if it would grow to anything like they do in the Med.
A nice plant that I would like to grow but it stands no chance here in Kent outside. I did see a reasonable sized one in Cornwall once, as Strongy says, it can probably just about survive down there.
