 Hi Woo... Now there is a job... Well depending on what sort of paint it was, oil based or water based shed paint... If it were me I would try my hot air paint stripper gun or failing that good old Nitromoors Liiquid Paint Stripper.. Then electric sander.. It is ferocious stuff the paint stripper but brilliant at the job though.. The green tin is water soluable & the yellow tin is neutralized with white spirit or turps... Hope that helps....

I used paint stripper once, and it certainly is ferocious stuff. I wore latex gloves (the only gloves I had that I thought might protect my hands). The latex melted when I got some of the paint stripper on them, with my hand still in the melting glove. It was a quick dash indeed to the bathroom sink to rinse thoroughly, as I could feel my hand skin burning like crazy. I'm pretty sure I smelled the smell of burning flesh. It was the source of much merriment when I told my mates in the pub later that evening.

Yes i agree that a heat gun is the best method to remove the paint but make sure you keep the gun at a sensible distance as too close make cause flames and damage to your shed.

Woo,if it's water based then I think you will have to use an electric sander or a well know product called 'Elbow Grease':heehee:

    :D Hi Woo,

If you ever get the extension lead back, make sure its unwound all the way as a hot air stripper will draw enough current to make a coiled lead catch fire. Seen it happen twice.

Well Ive always seen the label on the extension cables saying 'always unwind fully before use' but never knew why... I'll certainly be more careful in future!

Was charging the mobile from the car cigarette lighter without removing the bit of wire holding the cable together. Next thing I knew, there were flames coming up by the handbrake.
