    Hi,

I'm looking for ideas for small plants or shrubs.

They will be put in a border at the end of a SSE-facing garden, in front of/underneath the neighbour's 6-foot coniferous hedge, so they will only get a bit of sun at the start and end of each day.

We'll be moving house soonish, so I'm looking for something that I can get cheaply at about 3ft tall.

A couple of ideas would be great, as the border is about 10ft wide.

    Thanks in advance!

Mahonia likes being in the shade and will flower April/May. Also Euonymus fortunei. If you bury the pots in the ground you can easily take them up when you move.
