topsoil amounts

    hi i have 2 areas 2.6mx2.13mx8cm and 1.3mx5.6mx15cm which i worked out to 1.54cubic m in total.
    the company i was getting the soil from says i need 2.3ton is this correct cheers j

    I've just tried to visualise the area you describe, and the depth. It would weigh in at a fair bit that, especially when you consider that top soil is much heavier than compost. The supplier will have used a calculator, there are several such ones dotted about the internet if you google something like 'top soil calculator', but if I was going with my gut instinct, I'd probably say at least a couple of tonnes.

    I reckon that you will have .86 of cubic metre left over.
