    Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help me please. I ordered a few plants, which came a few weeks ago now and a "free" little wooden water butt + 75 bulbs came with it (my mother has made claim to it). My problem is not knowing what the bulbs are. The bulbs are called "premium bloembollen stuks sparaxis tricolor". I've tried googling the name, but not many results came up and only 1 photo came up with what looks like little daisy type flowers.

Before I email the company where I got them from, I thought I would see if any of you can help. Do you have any idea what they are, when & how to plant them and do I put all of them in this thing?

    Cheers,

    Calum

First class bulbs of sparaxsis three colour.

Six petals darker center flowers in a bit tender so best in containers to over winter inside.
    Hope that helps

      Try Googling "Spiraxis tricolour"

As Mrs Chopper says they are not hardy - so pop them in a pot and only put them outside after danger of frost has gone.

        Thanks Mrs Chopper.

I've now did a search for just "Sparaxis" and found lots of results. Now I know what they are. Do I just put all 75 bulbs in this water butt, as it just looks to many? The diametre of this thing is about 7 inches (17.5cm).

        Cheers,

        Calum

Sounds pretty crowded to me, but I know when these tubs are planted up the bulbs practically touch but I'm not sure they would be much use next year because there's probably not enough to feed the bulbs so they can last til the next season.
