    Hi,
On GW this week monty used a seaweed spray which he said was a restorative for frost damaged plants.
What is it and does it work?
I've some pretty sick looking Bays, even green leaves are crispy, my hebes and others could do with some magic.

    thanks
    David

Only seaweed spray I use is this one.

There is another one by the same company in a brown bottle that doesn't contain nutrients, its just a seaweed extract.

He might have been slightly overstating how good it is at restoring frost damaged plants.

But I do use it as a liquid feed.

Half the lies you hear are not true!

    .

I use maxicrop as a spray especially for tomatoes, but don't know wether it does any actual good!

I started using it because someone on a some gardening forum swore that it deterred whitefly, and as every year they destroy my tomato plants I would give anything a go!

It was "totally" useless for deterring whitefly!

Certainly seaweed from the foreshore works a treat, as some years ago I was able to get lots at the tide mark.

But there was a programme on TV one night about it from NZ, apparently it is used extensively by farmers out there, but when experiments were carried out by MAF they declared it useless!
