Thanks to both of you Peter and Dave, for that information. I will give it another try to find a good on-line source to buy more seeds.

Dave, I would love to see your progress in hybridizing the fuchsias if you do decide to do it.

Everyone in the other side stay warm.

I went to a talk on Hybridising a couple of years ago The speaker was a lady who had introduced quite a number of new varities ,a retired school teacher and really good at presenting her talk..
She didn't have specimen plants ,as long as they showed flowers to use in her hybridising she was happy but her results were fantastic .. She wrote a book on the subject ,I will look it out and have another read ...
One good thing with hybidising fuchsias is you get to see flowers within one season and then grow on any promising specimens ..

    Peter .
F.juntensis is very upright and the stems are very brittle and tend to snap off easily I tie them in, and mine is about 5ft tall ..I think in the wild (Bolivia)i t uses other plants to grow through. Not easy to find on sale ,the guy I bought mine off had retired and sold up .
I have rooted the odd plant but they are difficult.

    Too early to say Dave.
The last two winters have done real damage, this one has not been as cold but I think its killed off the new growth yet again, so no flowers for another year.
