I'd really like to go to the RHS show at Tatton this year. I've wanted to go for a few years now, but i've always been pregnant or had small babies in tow.

Now, my kids are 18m and 4. So my question is, would it be a really, really stupid idea for me and hubby to take them on the saturday? Or should i try and get a babysitter and just have a grown up day out?

i've never been to one of these shows, so i don't know how busy they are, or how much open space there is to let the kids loose when they get a bit bored.

I've only been to Hampton Court Flower Show, but I don't think it's suitable for children unless they too are really, really into gardening as well. Yes, there are some interesting exhibits for non gardeners, but in general I think they'd be bored. And your enjoyment might be forestalled by this.

My OH is not a gardener, so I left him at home when I went to Hampton Court and went with a fellow garden lover instead. Much better.

I have been to Hampton Court and Tatton Park and found Tatton was more spacious, however I think it would be far more enjoyable if you had a babysitter as they will get bored .
    Treat yourselves and enjoy ...

Thank you. I think we'll get my mum to look after the kids. I'm sure they'll prefer a day with Grandma being spoiled and eating ice cream!
