Can anyone recommend a good liquid fertilizer for growing vegetables in containers? There are so many now on the market i.e. Miracle grow, Chempak 8 etc that it is confusing as to what is the best. Or is it easier to just mix chicken manure pellets in with the compost and sit back and wait?

Miracle grow is a good place to start, but its slightly higher on Nitrogen than Potash .. so it is good for making things grow, but you will then need a Potash fertilizer for things that Fruit - a Tomato fertilizer will do for that bit.

You will probably get Magnesium deficiency in some plants (Tomatoes, Spuds), so some Epsom Salts ready to spray on when the plants show symptoms (better to get it from garden centre than Chemist, as you will get more-for-less-money :thumb:)

Right I think I'm with you. So it's tomato fertilizer for tomatoes, sweet peppers and aubergines and Miracle grow for beans, onions and garlic.

I’m also guessing that the tomato fertilizer isn’t applied until after the fruits start forming, yet the Miracle grow can be applied as soon as the veg has been planted in their final containers.
