    .

We have not had any rain here for about two months, the soil is very dry and dusty in the allotment, any plants sown or planted are having to be watered "heavily" with water from barrels, which are almost empty now.

I was on the north side of Gloucester this evening and there was rain, so heavy the roads were flooded!

When I got home, we had had not a drop according to the neighbours.

What rain have others had lately?

Ps. the weather forecast was for rain in Spain and Portugal over the Easter weekend!

No Rain for over 2 weeks here in the north west of England Makka . They have forecast 0.2mm on Saturday ! The temperature will drop next week from 24°c to the high teens. Everything is as dry as a bone. Do I hear a hose pipe ban approaching

No rain here in living memory - I'm a bear of very little brain :heehee:. This time of year, if it is very dry, I use the sprinkler a lot as we need to get the garden looking right for our charity opening in May.

In the height of the summer we try to only use our six rain barrels for watering the greenhouse, nursery areas, patio plants and baskets but it takes about one barrel per day :rolleyespink:. So with no rain it goes pretty quickly.

They say that we are heading towards having the hottest April on record .

We are already in the dryest part of the country so when there are 'droughts' we tend to suffer quite badly.

No rain since mid Feb here in Surrey, I'm having to water my veggies every other day. We were predicted a rainstorm last night but it never came, now the BBC says we'll get one on Sunday but I reckon it will be localised like yours Makka and will miss us.

Blimey Dave, carrying water to your allotment - you need one of these:

I've decided to keep things growing in pots to an absolute minimum this year as I'm already fed up having to water what I do have growing in pots twice a day!

Well, I can report that we are indeed having rain here in Portugal and it is forecast through Saturday then on and off next week. Yesterday it was blue skies and sunshine ... then rain ... then electrical storms with torrential rain ... then hail ... then back to blue skies and sunshine .. At the moment the sun is out and it is 18c with rain forecast.

Needless to say we have booked a table indoors for our Good Friday meal with friends. :heehee:

However, this is what we expect this time of year in readiness for our long hot summer when we can go 4-6 months without a drop.

I have been watching the weather too and for a while it has said we are expecting showers, but I can't remember the last time it rained at all. I remember the same thing happened last year too.......

Yesterday the Met Office forecast thunderstorms over NW England tonight. That has now changed to a possible shower about 1600 Saturday afternoon. I live 20 miles North of Manchester and like HarryS we have had no rain for at least 2 weeks. Oddly enough both my lawns look great.

No rain here for the last two and a half months, which is very unusual for the island.
So dry even my geraniums (not pelargoniums) were drooping in the garden, they usually tolerate drought.
I've had the sprinkler on this week and also left the hose running at the base of my young trees. Sandy soil doesn't help.
Apparently if it it rains in April we should have a good summer. Not looking good is it?

Apart from an odd spot before this 'heatwave' we haven't had any significant rain here for 5/6 weeks...

Isolated thundery showers are forecast for here tomorrow and then dry again on Sunday, getting cooler but still dry from Monday..

Just spoke to my Dad though who lives in Mid-Cheshire and they are currently getting a hefty shower; alright for some I said......

Just spoke to my Dad again, he says they now have thunder, lightening and nice steady heavy rain; he says the garden is alive with frogs coming from all over the place, all enjoying the wet stuff...
