We had a very, very light shower here this afternoon. Nothing to get excited about though.

We've had a early evening Thunderstorm in West Cheshire today. Thunder, lightning and torrential rain for about half an hour [just after I'd watered the lawn]. :gaagh:, then it changed to gentle rain for another 2 hours. That'll do the garden some good:thumbsup:

Before that, we hadn't had any real rain since February.

As pete said 2 weeks without rain and we imagine cactii appearing in our parched flower beds and vultures circling overhead :D

Up in the far north of England it has rained tonight, a fine shower, for the first time in 2 weeks, perhaps longer, i've forgotten the last time it rained! I'm hoping it's not the end of the heat though, i've been enjoying that.:)

We at long last have had rain overnight and this morning, the first in two and a half months, it wasn't enough to sort out our drought though.

    .

Still no rain, though the rain on the other side of Gloucester made the news!

Have had four young blackbirds in a nest in the ivy which is on the rear fence!

Have been hosing under the shrubs and part of the lawn to make it easier for the parents to find food for the beasts!
Her next door is feeding the mother meal worms and other titbits as well!

And the lot flew the nest sometime this afternoon, two of the youngesters are under my shrubs this evening, just hope they all survive!

    Cheers!

Thats lovely Makka, they'll be fine.

Dryer than an Egyptian Mummies Chuff here.

One barrel empty, half left in the other.

To Do list for tommorow includes installing extra rainbutt & setting snares for Easter Bunnies, not having them digging out my chocolate mint again.

Heres a site to keep an eye on the lightning strikes.

Live storm data from Newport, Isle of Wight from a Boltek StormTracker lightning detector

I use it before going fishing with a carbon fibre rod:th_redx:
