OK, so Bin Laden is dead which seems to indicate to the Americans that there should be some sort of national rejoicing. Do they really, honestly think that that's the end of it? Does it not occur to them that Bin Laden will have had a number of 'generals' (as the press will insist on referring to them) who will be only too happy to carry on. Before they start running up the flags and breaking into a chorus of The Star Spangled Banner, it might pay them (and their allies) to be watchful of reprisals.

I am glad that Bin Laden is dead.
They say that revenge is sweet but not always so. Why are (we) taunting his followers. Remember too 'he who laugh last laughs longest'.
I am appalled at the media coverage........

I'm very glad it was the Americans that got him, if it was the SAS the UK would be sued by Bin Laden's family under either Health & Safety or Human Rights law.

I can't understand all this fuss about the Pakistani Intelligence Services should have known his whereabouts.

Thank goodness they didn't because he would have been tipped off and scarpered long ago.

          Hang on mate.

I just said his speech afterwards was a bit OTT, and being a politician thats probably to be expected.

As to "how I would have done it"???
That's not a fair question because I think it was done right, And I hinted that when I said "well done US forces".

It was on the news today that the conspiracy theories have already started. Some people are claiming the none of it happened, and Bin Laden is still alive and in fact remains at large.

I'm sure if that's true then Osama will cooperate fully and wont spoil the story by appearing on TV in a few days to announce to the world that the US have lied and that he is alive and well.

PS: I presume the '72 virgins reward' thing only applies to men. Because, as a friend remarked, it doesn't really work for women. About as exciting as being permanently stuck at a Trekkies convention. :heehee:

I think all the publicity about is death should be stopped.
It's just making a martyr out of him.
Whether or not he is dead someone like that should not be in the news all the time.
We have been told now they should in my opinion move on.
Don't give him the time of day.

I saw him in Sainsbury's yesterday. He was in the queue just behind Elvis.

That figures. I've heard they've formed a duet.

I'm a bit surprised about the timing of it all. Its the first time I've ever known the bins to be taken out on a bank holiday.
