Taking a chance and planted a dozen runner beans:

I've watered my garlic bed because some of the leaves were turning brown at the tips, there are Elephant Garlic on the right and Iberian Wight on the left:

    Red Kale is growing strongly:

    Chard ...

.. and Peas are a bit slow off the mark:

Overwintered onions (only just planted this years onions sets and they aren't even showing yet):

In a cold frame I've got a couple of the Walking Stick Cabbage for the GC competition, pots of Leeks, Courgettes, Lettuce, more runner beans and other brassica seedlings:

    Early potatoes:

In my small greenhouse all I've got is early potatoes in black compost bags, growing like topsy
    [IMG]

A couple of roots for our dinner tonight (Variety = Rocket, very tasty):

In my main greenhouse the early batch of tomatoes (sown January) are growing in a self watering system I bought this spring, hard to see but they are on the right. In front of them I've got a couple of tomato plants in pots that I've 'stopped' at the first flowering truss - the idea is to get some very early fruit then chuck the plant away by June:

... a second batch (sown March) in the other half of the growing system - Amish Paste on the left, all much smaller:

I'm growing another later batch of the same vareties in the soil in the greenhouse (as is my normal method) as a comparison. I'm afraid of planting them just yet in case we get a frost, also some cucumbers nearly ready for planting too:

Amongst the veg (Rocket & Spinach in the tray) are some bedding seedlings coming on, Evening Primrose:

    Nicotioana, Cineraria & Nemophilia:

Looking at your pictures makes me want a garden big enough for a veg patch and a couple of greenhouses! It all looks fantastic :thumb::D

Thanks Dai, something has been digging up various bits of my patch, I thought it was rabbits but you could well be right about mice going after the pea seed.

Thanks Rose, the small greenhouse I got for free when some non-gardening friends moved to a house and asked me if I wanted it.

My patch is not that big, I'm sure you can find space for one or two things, Runner Beans are probably the most productive plants for the space they take up.

My garlic doesn't seem to be doing very well this year, the highest leaves only up to 37"

How does that compare with yours above? (but what's happening underground???).

But my elephant garlic seems very sturdy this year.

Nice one John, all coming on good despite the lack of rain & you having the free est draining soil in the south of England:dbgrtmb:

Blimey, that is about twice the height of mine :dbgrtmb:

Maybe I should have started watering them a bit sooner. Do you feed yours Scrungee?

I feed the soil before planting and give a top dressing in early spring. I hope to have them up to four foot high by harvest time:

Must take some pics of my elephant garlic as I lost them all to white rot a couple of years ago and I'm only starting up again.

Cheers Ziggy. I'm well behind other years with my onions, carrots and peas etc mainly because the winter veg was still in the ground until a week ago. But some things like my spuds are the earliest I've ever had them. It would all benefit from a good heavy shower.

Well done for spotting my deliberate mistake (aka senior moment), it's actually Celeriac.

That must be a struggle Dave. It won't be long before we have a hosepipe ban.
